Trident University offering new degree programs  

To serve the changing needs of both students and future employers, Trident University is going to soon introduce new programs for a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science in Leadership. These are the first new programs offered by the university since 2011.

The programs will focus on teaching current leadership theories in order to help students expand their knowledge of managerial skills with new theories and approaches. Trident says these degree programs will allow for an easier path up the corporate ladder, and will help strengthen resumes.

Studies show managerial roles in business have grown 4.5 percent in the last 10 years and there are expected to be an additional 410,000 jobs in this segment by the year 2020. Trident is now one of the first to offer a leadership program among private online universities.

Both the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs received approval from WASC, the association that accredited Trident University in April 2013. The program is managed by the Dean of the College of Business Administration and College of Information Systems, Dr. Simcha Pollard. With these degrees, Trident University hopes that current and future managers will gain the skills needed to handle increases in growth and productivity in the modern professional environment.

The Bachelor’s of Science in Leadership will offer concentrations in Management, Interdisciplinary Studies and Criminal Justice Administration. Registration for this year’s summer session is currently open, and courses will begin on July 7.
