Jaguar to take on 3 Series rivals with upcoming XE

Even though Jaguar has long been the maker of beautiful luxury sedans and sports cars, their last attempt at breaking into the compact luxury car market was not as big of a success and they would have liked. The future 2016 Jaguar XE sports sedan will be here to fight the bestselling small luxury sedans in its class, like the BMW 3 series, Mercedes C-Class and Cadillac ATS.

The X-Type was launched in 2001 by then-Jaguar owner Ford, and it did not exactly light the world on fire. It was based on the Ford Mondeo, or Ford Contour as we knew it in the U.S., and the German competitors continued to be the better sellers in that class.

Based on the recent success of the F-Type convertible, available now at dealers in the U.S., Jaguar looks to continue to make their way into the minds of buyers. Dealers across the country will be excited to finally have a new car to compete against the top selling German and Japanese sports sedans, including http://www.merrittislandjaguar.com/jaguar/Dealer/MerrittIsland.

The Jaguar XE is a complete in-house design, and will be made mostly out of aluminum and built at the company’s Solihull plant in the U.K. Sharing styling cues with the larger XF and XJ sedans, the design of the new XE will certainly be attractive, and the new architecture should make it a fun to drive and technologically advanced car.

Jaguar has promised to deliver a premium sports sedan with “seductive design, instinctive technology and exhilarating performance.” Those are large claims, but if anyone can do it, it is Jaguar, who has been earning solid profits since they were sold by Ford to Tata Motors.

With efficient engines now available on currently available models at dealers such as http://www.merrittislandjaguar.com/, Jaguar is certainly on track to be one of the leading luxury marques in the world.
