Updated Chrysler plant creates jobs

Sterling Heights, MI – Following the success of the current generation Chrysler 200, Fiat-Chrysler has started production of the all-new 2015 Chrysler 200. The upcoming 200 builds off of the proven platform the is under the recently introduced Dodge Dart and Jeep Cherokee, and looks to bring a new level of style and luxury to the classic American brand.

CEO and Chairman Sergio Marchionne made an announcement at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant that 800 jobs have been added to help with production of the new Chrysler 200. The plant was originally slated to close in 2010, when Chrysler was being revitalized.

Almost $1 billion has been invested into the plant, and Chrysler says the new facility is state of the art. Notable changes are updated paint and body shops, and an increase of 2 million square feet to the facility. This now brings the total spent on investments by Chrysler to nearly $5.2 billion since partnering up with Fiat in 2009.

The plant workers have adopted the theme of ‘I Believe’ and Marchionne has shown his appreciation for the dedicated workers.

“I’m proud to be associated with you, and to be on this exciting journey with you,” he said. “I, too, am a believer.”

If you are looking to purchase the new 200, you will have to wait until later this year, though 2014 200s are still on sale, and older Chrysler 200s are available for sale at many locations throughout the U.S., such as http://www.enterprisecarsales.com/chrysler/200.
