Trident University builds their first app for students

Trident University International, a completely online accredited university, recently released their first mobile application in an effort to accommodate the growing needs of busy students. The new app is available for both iOS and Android devices, and can be downloaded in either the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

The new app, called “Trident University Mobile App,” is available as a free download. The app was created in-house by members of the Trident University Information Technology department. It was designed to give easy access to news, academic dates, phone numbers for student services, finance information and answers to general questions.

The Trident application also acts as a gateway to the Trident Learning Community (TLC) site, which is where Trident students can access their personal courses and student services. The TLC site uses a responsive design, so it can be viewed on virtually any device. Vahid Shariat, Chief Information Officer at Trident University said that “ease of access to Trident Learning Community and all other resources from any devices is one of our top priorities.”

The app has already had a number of enhancements pushed out since its initial release, and Trident is currently working on bringing new student-centric features to version 2.0. A student focused app to help those in Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. programs only seems fitting for a completely online university.
