The benefits of getting your Ph.D. online

While many of us would love to go back to school and get our Master’s or Ph.D., the thought of having to put our lives on hold to spend a lot of time on a college campus is less than ideal. For those with children, without access to reliable transportation or at a job they can’t afford to leave, it can be even more of a challenge.

Luckily there are online universities to help ease the burden of going back to school to get your degree. Online courses have the flexibility that traditional college classes do not, as you can fit in your classes when you have time, as long as you have internet access. Trident University Ph.D. students are able to interact with fellow students and professors from anywhere, which is something a traditional college campus can’t really offer.

Like any other University, to know you are getting a quality education you want to make sure that the college is accredited. Trident University is accredited by WASC, and is the only 100 percent online university to earn that accreditation. This means they have to abide by established high-quality standards and receive regular evaluations of faculty, curriculum, facilities and equipment.

In an effort to save you money, online universities do their best to save you the high costs typically associated with higher education. And other associated costs such as parking, transportation and housing can be virtually eliminated by attending college courses online. Like any other university, financial aid is available, and there are benefits for veterans.
