Nissan showed this week their completed “Project Titan” crowd-sourced custom off-road vehicle, which is ready to head out into the Alaskan terrain. Through the Nissan Trucks Facebook page, fans picked out the off-road equipment that would be fitted to the Titan. Wounded Warrior Project alumni David Guzman and Kevin McMahon will be taking the Project Titan on its Alaskan adventure.

Nissan began the build with a 2014 Nissan Titan Crew Cab with the PRO-4X package, their most capable off road truck. The PRO-4X Titan comes standard with four-wheel-drive, a 5.6 liter V8 engine with 317 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque, front skid plates and a locking rear differential for fantastic off-road capability. Both a NISMO cold-air intake and Borla cat-back exhaust were installed to increase performance.

To handle everything that the Alaskan wilderness could send their way, such as deep mud, large creeks and massive rocks, the Titan needed some serious suspension upgrades. Facebook Nissan Truck fans picked out a lift kit and front suspension kit from PRG with coil overs to increase ground clearance. An AirLift rear airbag setup made sure the truck would remain level, no matter how much gear was in the back.

Off-road worthy 18-inch Fuel Revolver D525 wheels were added, matched with 35-inch Nitto Trail Grappler M/T tires for superior on and off-road handling. These tires help improve lateral grip, which should make traversing deep mud simple. Other exterior items were added as well, including new front and rear bumpers with integrated lights and winches. A military style wrap adds to the aggressive look.

When it came to the interior of the Titan, Katzkin leather seat covers were added, in addition to many other custom interior pieces. A Lowrance off-road GPS unit will help the team navigate remote locations in Alaska, and a satellite phone means emergency services are just a call away. The final addition to the Project Titan was a Manley ORV Explore trailer to help carry all the camping gear the team will need on their adventure. Fans will be able to follow the progress on their Facebook page and learn more about the Titan at Harte Cars.
